    Nutritional requirement during pregnancy

    Pregnancy is a wonderful stage that comes in every woman’s life that changes her life completely in all respects. The total duration of pregnancy is divided into 3 parts; each consists of 3 months known as TRIMESTER.
    The nutritional requirement of the mother increases as the pregnancy progresses. She has to take care of the quantity as well as quality of food.

    As soon as the mother conceives, she should increase calorie intake by 10 kcal per day. The quantity of fats and proteins should be increased by including foodstuffs such as pulses, sprouts, rajma, soybean, fish, eggs, milk and milk products. Apart from this, intake of Iron, Calcium, and Multivitamins like Folic Acid needs to be increased, which can be achieved by including fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables, nuts, dry fruits. Certain Vitamins such as Thiamine (B1-found in peanut husk), pyridoxine (B6) relieves from nausea, vomiting common during this stage.

    During second trimester, the calorie requirements need to be increased by 100 kcal as the foetus grows rapidly during this stage. Apart from the above mentioned diet, fluid intake should be increased and salt intake should be reduced as it causes hypertension and water retention.

    In third trimester, maximum growth of the foetus is obtained. Hence calorie requirement increases by 300 kcal. Recent studies have shown consumption of DHA i.e. Docosahexaenoic acid, an omega-3 essential fatty acid, prevents low birth weight. It is found in Walnuts, Fish.

    Do’s:

    1. Have small frequent meals.
    2. Include more of cereals, pulses, sprouts, fish, nuts, milk and milk products, fruits, green
    leafy vegetables.
    3. Have lime water after meals for better absorption of Iron.
    4. Meditate, read
    5. Regular monitoring of weight, other tests as suggested by the doctor.
    6. Cut down on coffee, tea.

    Don’ts:

    1. Have junk food, Chinese foods.
    2. Have canned, packaged foods, cold drinks, sausages etc. as they are high in
    preservatives and low in nutrients.
    3. Have coffee, tea after meals it reduces the iron absorption of iron.
    4. Have alcohol, cigarettes, and tobacco products.


    If the diet is not sufficient to meet the required nutrients, additional medication, or supplements can be included under the supervision of a qualified registered doctor.

    The basically reason film sexe not to associate with to Europe was money. Flying to Europe was not in genuineness niggardly, neither was living in Europe.
