    Best time to take a Whey protein supplement

    This depends on your diet and when you are eating foods rich in whey protein. Here are a few points when it is best to take a whey protein supplement:

    1. Post Workout - This is the best time to have a whey protein shake. As body is into catabolic stage after intense workout. So whey protein is absorbed in the body at very faster rate.

    2. First thing in the morning - After 8hrs of sleep body has done the fast of 8hrs so body is into catabolic(Muscle Breakdown) stage so to bring body into anabolic stage(Muscle Building) whey protein can play major role.

    3. Before you go to sleep - This will help to prevent muscle breakdown while you are sleeping. There is controversy on this issue that it is better to take casein protein or whey protein just before sleep.

    Hello,
    i m yogesh i was working in night shift 7 p.m to 5 a.m then i went to gym. and i sleep at 8 a.m . and wakeup in the eve .. could u please tell what is a good time to take whey protein...

    When to take whey protein

    Hi Yogesh,

    You should take whey protein withing 15 minutes of finishing your workout with any one of the fruit or 60gms dextrose.

    And when you wake up that time you can take 1 scoop whey with milk or water.

    But make sure you are taking enough carbohydrates to support your daily energy consumption.

    Amino acids are the building blocks for the muscles. And we get amino acids from breaking down proteins. We get energy for day to day activities from carbohydrates. If you are on low carbohydrates diet then your body doesn't find energy from carbohydrates but from proteins. So it is a waste of expensive protein.

    So if you want to gain good muscles then you need to take enough carbohydrates to supports metabolism of the body.

    Hello people, I am working out from last one month and I have been taking On 100% whey protein but I dont see any significant improvement. My trainers has suggested to take some complex carbohydrates. I dont know what complex carbohydrates are and hence some information on it. Please help.
