The squat effetely pause can also be done on a smith machine. Most have a smith machine or stop pin which can be placed at various levels. Set your pin on the smith machine the same way you do in the power rack. Pause squats on a smith machine will tend to emphasize the quadriceps a little more than gap power squat rack because you do lift in a very upright position on the smith machine.
ombination example:
a.squats - 3 sets of 5 reps
Hack squat - 3 sets of 5-10 reps
Leg curls - 3 sets of 10 reps
b.squats - 3 sets of 5 reps
Leg press - 3 sets of 10-20 reps
Leg curls - 3 sets of 10 reps
c.squats - 3 sets of 5 reps
Leg extensions - 3 sets of 10-15 reps
Leg curls - 3 sets of 10 reps
