Vitamin E:
Vitamin E has potent antioxidant action, and is expected to prevent damage to LDL cholesterol, which causes them to form fatty plaques. Studies have found that people taking vitamin E are at risk of heart disease.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids:
Omega-3 fatty acids found primarily in fish oils and have been shown to inhibit inflammation, prevent blood clotting, and lower triglycerides - all of which have been shown to reduce the risk of atherosclerosis. Omega-3 can be taken in supplement form, or nature in the form of primrose oil flaxseed, rapeseed and evening.
Green Tea:
Several compounds that interfere with the process of atherosclerosis can be found in green tea. phytochemicals (or polyphenols) found in green tea appear to improve lipid metabolism and lowers cholesterol. These compounds also act as antioxidants.
