Yoga and Sex
Yoga's view of sex is the same as any other subject - moderation. Yoga considers sex as a natural function, very beneficial in a loving relationship and, of course, essential to the continuation of the human race.
Yogis warn against the excesses of sex, since they consider this will deplete the life force. They claim that the sexual secretions contain very concentrated life force and nutrients, since they contain the seeds of life. The depletion of life force results in a reduced level of vitality and reduced resistance to disease. It also slows the progress of the practice of yoga. An entire field of yoga called Yoga or Kundalini Yoga Tandric is concerned with harnessing the sexual power. Yoga allows people to enter into meaningful relationships and enjoy the process at the same time provides a way to use the powerful energy involved in sexual relations.
Yogis believe that normal sexual function occurs when the reproductive system is in a state of optimum health. They found that the most effective way to achieve this ideal state of health is doing yoga asanas and breathing exercises. Those who are psychologically weak and powerless can partially or completely restore the power, as they regain their physical health. Steadier practice of yoga exercises may produce lighter more energetic when you finish the exercises in bodybuilding undue exhaustion. Those who approach sexual matters nervously instead of relaxedly can profit from earlier exercises, yoga and relaxing.
Marriage counselors suggest that a relaxed condition is an essential element for a harmonious relationship of sex, because when hurried and tense leaves couples (women especially) dissatisfied and angry, hurting your overall well-being. Indra Devi, author of several books on yoga, noted that "women of several of my students have often told me that since her husband had taken up yoga exercises, their marital relationship has undergone remarkable changes."
It is true that celibacy advanced yogis practice. They need every ounce of his strength of life to his quest for a cosmic consciousness. They also know that the achievement of your goal produces eternal bliss, beyond the pleasure of sex that soon pales into insignificance. Their minds have progressed so far that they are not prepared to accept a diluted version of happiness.
