Leucorrhoea

Leucorrhea is also known as “sweta pradara” in ayurveda, which is a condition where there is a whitish discharge from the vagina. Which is thick, viscid and foul smelling which is caused by the infections.

Around you, you may found two types of leucorrhoea they are physiological and pathological,.leucorrhoea in both the discharge is normal due to excitement and other factors like nervousness. Such a discharge you should not worry about. Which is found under condition like:-

• It is widely Seen in newborn baby for a week due to maternal oestrogen.
• It is also Seen in girls during puberty due to hormonal changes.
• It mostly occurs At the time of ovulation and in early pregnancy.
And also at the time of sexual excitement

In pathological Leucorrhoea the causes are:
• General ill health and under nutrition.
• Dysfunctional state in genital tract.
• Psychological factors.
What are the causes?

Leucorrhoea is caused due to infection of some hormonal and metabolic disorders are also responsible for the condition. In ayurveda it is considers that leucorrhoea is caused due to the vititiation of kapha, and also it occurs among in weak and anaemic women.

It can be also caused due to the inflammation of the womb following childbirth, displacement of the uterus, or gonorrhoea.

Among young females, it may be due to threadworms, as the result of general debility combined with lack of cleanliness or infections. Leucorrhoea may also occur during the menstrual periods in young women, due to the thickening of the mucus membrane in the reproductive organs. During the child bearing years from adolescence to the mid-forties, infection may sometimes follow birth of a child due to damage of the cervix during the delivery of the baby.

i do not quite believe that the white discharge is a problem..it wud have been nicer if you gave some more information like does it smell or itch or anything..

if you are 55 then i am guessing that menapause has kicked in or is about to kick in and with any hormonal change your body is goin through you will see signs like change in discharge whether it is color or amount...i remember when i was just about to get my period i had alot more discharge than i usually do and it still happens to date every time i am about to get my period...

if it doesnt itch or has no fishy odor then it is nothing to worry about ...white or clear discharge is very normal

if it really is leukorrhea though you need to see a doc cause it means that there is inflammation somewhere....at home you can stop using any spicy foods if you do cause that just makes it worse
