History Of Triathlon
Triathlon is considered by some have its beginnings in 1920 in France. According to the triathlete, historian and writer Scott Tinley (and others), the origin of triathlon à is attributed to a race during the decade of 1920-decade of 1930 that was called of diverse “Les trois sports” sports “La Course des Débrouillards”, and “La course des Touche à Tout”. Nowadays, this race is celebrated every year in France, near Joinville-him-Pont, in Meulan and Poissy.
A previous event tri-deports in 1902 appears to run, the cycling and the canoeing. The events are not documented tri-deports with running, swimming, and to cycle (not necessarily in that order) in 1920, 1921, 1945 and 1960. In 1920, the French newspaper “L'Auto” informed about a called aid “Them Trois Deportes” with a race into 3 km, 12 km in bicycle and to cross to I swim the Marne channel. The three tests were made without no interruption. Another event was celebrated in 1921 in Marseilles with the order of events cycling and race-I swim. Between the participants she was American athlete Charles Sector. Also there are articles in French newspapers on a race in Marseilles in 1927. There is an article of 1934 on “Them Trois Deportes” (the three sports) in the city of La Rochelle, a race with:
(1) swimming (c. 200 ms),
(2) a competition of bicycles (10 km) around the port of La Rochelle and the Laleu park, and
(3) a race (1200 ms) in the stage André Barbeau.
