35 and 40 are the high risk pregnancy age?
In the last session you had seen what are the complications you have to suffer if you are delivering a baby at the late 30s. now moving forward we are going to discuss a period of age which is said as high risk pregnancy age.
At the age of 35:-
Women’s who are pregnant at the age of 35 it is observed that there is an increase in pre-eclampsia. Also there are other problems which can be pop up during this age are gestational diabetes, dysfunctional labor, still birth, abruptio placentae and placenta previa. They are also having the disorders like chronic hypertension (CHTN), diabetes, etc. during this age it is highly recommended to do genetic testing to check the probability of fetal chromosomal abnormalities also increases with the increase in maternal age.
At the age of 40:-
At the age of 40 you can observe more pregnancy risks or less similar risks as compared to the age of 35. The fact is that the risk increases and become more complicated with the increasing age. Which includes the risks like complications in labor and delivery, genetic and birth abnormalities, medical illnesses that affects the fetus and mother and pregnancy loss in some rare cases.
It has been proven that higher the age of the pregnant women higher the risk is involved. The age not only affect the mother it also baby.
Due to the increasing age the baby might be prone to down syndrome etc.
